GPA is proud to celebrate one of our own. Scott McNeil has been formally recognized by the IEEE Standards Association for his contributions to the newly published IEEE Standard 3388 2025, which focuses on the performance assessment of industrial wireless systems.

Nearly five years ago, Scott joined the IEEE and NIST Industrial Wireless Joint Working Group. What began as an introduction from a colleague grew into an opportunity to help shape a standard that will influence industrial wireless reliability for years to come.
As the project developed, the working group brought together academics, engineers from major wireless vendors, and professionals from many different corners of the wireless world. Scott stepped in with something different and much needed.
He brought real operational experience.
He brought stories from factory floors and manufacturing sites.
He brought firsthand knowledge of what happens when wireless interference affects critical communication and production.
That practical insight helped bridge the gap between theory and real world performance, giving the group a clearer understanding of how these systems behave under actual industrial conditions. His contributions played an important role in shaping the direction of the standard.
We are proud to recognize Scott’s achievement and grateful for the depth of experience he brings to GPA every day. His work reflects the type of commitment and expertise we value, and we are proud to employ trusted leaders who strengthen both our company and the wider industrial community.
