OT Systems Administrator II

 

Description:

The Operational Technology (OT) Systems Administrator role supports the Active Directory and VMware infrastructure for a large manufacturing environment consisting of 100+ servers and 300+ clients. Proficiency in troubleshooting, installation, configuration, operation, upgrade and maintenance of Microsoft Active Directory and VMware ESXi 6.5 and greater is a requirement. In-depth experience with related infrastructure including virtualization environments, enterprise storage, and networking infrastructure is also expected.

 

This position will serve as a direct escalation path on day-to-day operations, projects, and will work directly with mid-level engineers and project leads to implement solutions and complete tasks associated with the support of the systems as well as day-to-day operational duties. At times this position will be an escalation point of contact for other support teams as needed. This role requires interaction with Distributed Control System (DCS) support and development teams, effective collaborative and interpersonal skills are required as well as a desire for delivering great customer service.

 

Primary Location:

This position will be based out of Wilmington, NC.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working within a team of engineers supporting the maintenance, expansion and improvements of the network and its’ components. 

  • Provide support for, secure, and improve the Active Directory domain and existing deployment of over 300 servers and workstations. 

  • Test and deploy Microsoft security patches in a non-disruptive manner.

  • Participate in a monthly on-call rotation, providing 24/7 support for all responsible systems.

  • Other opportunities to work on new deployments and projects within GPA as needed and primary client demands allow

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and common technologies found in domain deployments

  • Experience with an array of desktop and server operating systems (2003, 2008, 2012, 2016, XP, 7, 10)

  • Understanding of iSCSI, Fiber Channel, and other SAN technologies

  • Familiarity with Windows Server Update Systems (WSUS)

  • VCP-DCV or equivalent relevant experience working with VMware technologies

  • Experience with Windows DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy Management

  • Experience upgrading / migrating legacy environments

Preferred additional skills:

  • Experience within industrial manufacturing facilities or other 24/7 environment

  • Experience scripting in PowerShell, VBScript, or other languages

  • Experience configuring and managing HP Blade servers (Bl380 Gen 6 to Gen 10) in a VMware 6.5 environment

  • Working experience with ABB, Rockwell, Valmet, Siemens, or other DCS vendors, including software installation and configuration

  • Understanding of the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture
